About Robert H. Berdo, Jr.*
Mr. Berdo has been preparing and prosecuting patent applications, and handling other IP matters, since 1992. He focuses on patent applications in the mechanical and electro-mechanical fields. He also has experience in rendering legal opinions on issues of patent validity and patent infringement, and in client counseling, patent infringement litigation, and patent reexamination and reissue proceedings.
Mr. Berdo's area of expertise is mechanical and electro-mechanical engineering, with special knowledge of medical devices, control systems, internal combustion engines, anti-lock braking systems, safety systems and other vehicular components, industrial machinery, various conveying systems, security components, smart card technology, semiconductor technology, etc. In college, his studies emphasized mechanical designing. Before attending Old Dominion University, Mr. Berdo served as a project systems engineer in a hemodialysis center.
